Default Best for soloing!

Warrior/Ranger

Points into swordsmanship, Wilderness Survival and Strength

Skills:
Mighty Blow
Gash
Sever Artery
Troll Ungent
Glyph of Resurrection
Hundred Blades
Sprint
Frenzy

This build has held me up in a battle with me lvl 10 against 6+ lvl 5-10 gargoyles, and whenever my group dies, I am the last one, fighting them all (and usually winning). Not sure if its just my mad skills keeping me alive or the set up, but it seems to work really well, and in PvP he works great for ninjaing monks and such.

Feel free to add your soloing build, or any suggestions to make mine better (I only got him to lvl 10, and the listed skills are pretty much all I could find for him)

Ranger/Monk lvl 10

I have my pet cat hold the monsters off while I turn them into a pincusion with my Bow. When I get hurt to bad I use my monk skills to heal or regen.

R/E with Barrage + Conjure = Amazing AoE damage. Also, if I could find a bow with +1 energy per hit -1 energy regen, I would never run out of energy. By the way, my exp was at 12.

I do alright with my Elemezmer (E/Me). I cast Aura of Resteration and then use Firestorm and Chaos Storm then rush up close and do Inferno and Lava font. If they arent dead by then, I use energy tap and my Flares usually finish them off.

I like to nuke.

I can solo well with my Warrior/Necro, trick is to keep the mobs lower than 3. Warrior's Endurance + life stealing = good times ^^.

I had a lot of fun with a Monk/Mesmer. It was challenging... Monks are not really meant for fighting. My continued playing depended on keeping the others alive: this was about as hard as fighting the monsters directly. ^_^ Once I left the training area I was really struggling, until I figured out how to hire henchmen, but the challenge made me want to try that much harder.

Ranger / Monk with a Pet does really good.

But I believe W/mo do pretty darn well. That is waht I use for soloing.

Maybe it's just because I didn't have all that great of skills at the time, but my experiences of being a Ranger/Monk with a Pet and trying to solo haven't been all that great. For the most part I can run areas fine, but if it ever gets to a point where all of the sudden a bunch of assorted Carrion popped out and then Flash Gargoyles were hitting me, T.Ung could only do so much, and without having a Monk heal skill on me I had to resort to running a bit before I got reengage them. It's not bad though, Warrior/Monks are probably the easiest to do it with.

Actually I had a fair bit of luck with a W/Mes, ocasionally I had to take along a Healer NPC, when I could't cover myself fast enough with Ether Fest or my Healing signet (Double damage can really hurt some times) but I made it almost all the way to Lion's Arch that way

Well getting ganged up on is a result of poor team coordination. This next BWE I'm going to try and be more aggressive in clearing out large groups with AOEs to give some people a chance to recouperate. Some classes are better vs. different creatures so I want to always look to make favorable matchups.
